Adopt-a-Shelf is a volunteer opportunity designed to keep the library’s materials in order and looking nice. 

How it works:
     Volunteers choose a favorite topic or type of material. At least twice a month, the volunteer will spend time putting that section in order and straightening the items on the shelves.

Volunteers will be trained by library staff.  Sign up at the circulation desk.

Qualifications:
   - Over 15 or working with an adult.
   - Detail oriented.
   - Able to work independently.

Responsibilities:
   - Maintain your section of shelving by keeping it in proper alphabetical or numerical order.
  - Straighten items on shelves and pull them to the front of the shelf.
Put an interesting item on display if there’s room.
   - Shift books as necessary to keep book ends in place and everything looking nice.
   - Initial Adopt - a - Shelf calendar on the days you work.
   - Bring books that need some tender loving care to the circulation desk.

Magnets will be used to mark the sections that have been adopted.Â
