Town of Ballston Senior Connection

Along with the Town of Ballston, the New York State Broadband Program Office, Cornell University Cooperative Extension, Hudson Valley Wireless, a program has been developed to help our area seniors.  The Town of Ballston Senior Connection is intended to help seniors learn how to use the internet, both for functionality, and recreation.  The goal is for seniors to become “digitally literate”.  What exactly does this mean?  Being “digitally literate” mean to have the knowledge and ability to use technology, such as computers, smartphones, and tablets.  The Senior Connection aims mainly to help seniors overcome the basic barriers to access and the general fear that often accompanies new technologies.  After that, seniors will be helped discover all the ways they can benefit from using various technologies, whether it is staying in touch with family that lives far away, or e-filing their taxes, or looking up information on healthcare, or other programs.
